JOB TITLE: INTERN

JOB SUMMARY:

The TMH Intern will actively participate in a diverse range of functions within our clinic, gaining valuable hands-on experience and exposure to the inner workings of a behavioral health practice. This internship opportunity is designed to provide a practical complement to the intern's academic training and offers a dynamic learning experience that spans therapy, administrative functions, and various other aspects of clinic operations.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING:

Clinical Support:

  • Assist licensed clinicians in therapy sessions with clients, providing support and observing therapeutic techniques.
  • Engage in client assessments, case notes documentation, and progress tracking under the supervision of licensed staff.
  • Attend and contribute to clinical team meetings and case discussions.


Administrative Functions:

  • Assist with appointment scheduling, reminder calls, and managing client records in compliance with confidentiality regulations.
  • Participate in the billing and insurance verification processes.
  • Help maintain an organized and efficient office environment.


Client Engagement:

  • Welcome and assist clients during their visits, ensuring a positive and supportive experience.
  • Address client inquiries and provide information on clinic services and resources.


Observation and Learning:

  • Gain exposure to various therapeutic modalities and approaches used within the clinic.
  • Attend training sessions, workshops, and seminars as offered by the clinic to enhance knowledge and skills.


Research and Project Assistance:

  • Assist in research projects related to behavioral health, data collection, and analysis as required.
  • Contribute to the development of educational materials or clinic improvement initiatives.


Professional Development:

  • Receive regular supervision and mentoring from licensed clinicians and senior staff.
  • Reflect on experiences, engage in self-assessment, and actively seek opportunities for growth and learning.

  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in behavioral health.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and comfortable with learning new software.

  • Ethical and maintains strict confidentiality regarding client information.


EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Enrolled in a master's degree program in psychology, counseling, social work, or a related field.
